Originally a Gothic, single-aisled church founded by Queen Žofia, the second wife of Václav IV, in 1397. During the Thirty Years War the church was likely damaged in part. Noteworthy is the exterior of the church – a wooden covered bridge over the marshy terrain in front of the church. A Gothic portal leads to a 9 m long and 7 m wide nave with a wooden ceiling dating to 1678 and rich ornamentation from tulip blossoms, campanula, roses, and dahlias. The church tower is 29 m high with an octagonal top. The tower is supported by massive oak timbers. The tower holds the bells Bartholomew (1496) and Lawrence (1562).
